Dear Friends:
Thank you for your overwhelming response and best wishes to the Grand Launch Ceremony of CANCURE Charitable Project to combat cancer- a joint initiative between Sree Uthram Tirunal Royal Hospital, Ulloor and Trivandrum Cancer Center.
Almost 1300 well wishers participated in the event held at Golf Club, Kawdiar, Trivandrum last Saturday on 3 September 2016.
Ms Sugathakumari, distinguished social activist and poet was the chief guest for the evening and launched the project. Mr P.A. Ahammed, Director and Board Member of Royal Hospital presided over the evening. Due to slight indisposition we missed having amongst us for the evening Padmasree Dr. M. Krishnan Nair (Founder Director of RCC and Head Oncology Department, Senior Consultant Oncology- Royal Hospital) who is guiding force of this initiative.
I had the opportunity to speak about CANCURE Suraksha Plan where a donation of Rs 10,000 by a person would entitile her or him free treatment in the unlikely event of cancer after one year of payment. The donor also will be eligible for 50% waiver in charges for other treatments.
Our first donor was none other than our guest of honor Ms Sugatahkumari teacher who pledged Rs 10,000 for her orphanage “Abhaya” and elivated our project for a great start.
“Had been to the inaugural function of Cancure. Good idea and good function. Apt speeches by everyone and Dr Baiju’s spoke well in Malayalam” was a kind message by a senior surgeon who attended the event.
CANCURE is a comprehensive Awareness, Prevention, Early Detection, Treatment and Rehabilitation program to the poor patients in Kerala , because the overloaded Government Centers can not sufficiently support these patients who have to wait their turn for treatment for over six months sometimes.
CANCURE aspires to treat at least 1000 needy patients in two years time.
We encourage all of you to donate generously to the CANCURE fund and avail benefits of CANCURE Suraksha Plan but with no compulsion.
Your helpful donations will be joined by ours to provide FREE CANCER TREATMENT to the needy patients, who otherwise are not able to afford timely and effective treatment.
Take Care
