Dr Senadhipan, one of the global pioneers in Laparoscopic Cancer and GI surgeries, was the invited faculty at AMASICON international conference for Surgeons organized at Kochi from 26- 28 Oct 2017.
As live demonstration to more than 3000 delegates, Dr Senadhipan was one of the few faculties who performed 2 complex surgeries at this prestigious event: Lap Whipple’s and Lap Gastrectomy.

Whipple’s with Laparoscopic approach is probably the most complex minimally invasive surgery to remove pancreatic cancers that most surgeons do not even attempt.
Where as Dr Senadhipan has one of world’s largest series of 30+ cases of Laparoscopic Whipple’s to his credit. His demonstration of this procedure at the conference was highly appreciated by a packed house of delegates.
Lap Gastrectomy (removing a part of or complete stomach laparoscopically) was the second major surgery demonstrated by Dr Senadhipan.
The laparoscopic cancer surgeries are performed through miniature incisions (3mm-11 mm) in the abdominal wall with total adherence to oncological principles.
A long thin tube with a lighted camera at its tip called laparoscope, is inserted through one incision. The surgeon operates using specially designed surgical instruments placed through the remaining incisions, guided by the laparoscope images shown on a TV monitor in the operating room.
Conventional open cancer surgeries require a much longer incision of 9 inches to 12 inches and wider opening of the abdomen. With laparoscopic procedures, surgeons can reduce blood loss and risk infection for the patient while enabling pain free and quicker post operative recovery.
