This surgery is technically so demanding to perform laparoscopically that less than 100 such surgeries have been documented in Worldwide literature.
Laparoscopic Pancreato- Jejunostomy, is one of the most difficult keyhole surgeries because the surgeon has to laparoscopically open the duct of Pancreas to take the stones out and join the small intestine to the length of the Pancreas.
Although surgery is very difficult, when completed successfully, patient can recover much faster than open surgery because of miniature incisions of 3mm to 12 mm each compared to open surgery incisions of 6 inches to 9inches.
Dr Senadhipan successfully demonstrated this surgery to a packed audience at Live international workshop at PSG Coimbatore last weekend.
One of the most respected laparoscopic surgeons of the world Dr Brice Gayet who was Dr Senadhipan’s co-faculty at this workshop witnessed Dr Senadhipan’s live demo and highly appreciated the Dr Senadhipan’s skills.
