When a 51 year old male patient came in with history of pain in the abdomen which was also increasing in size for almost 6 months, he was diagnosed with a large tumor lying over the right kidney and was already compressing and encasing big blood vessels like IVC and the aorta.
It took well over 6 hours of surgery for the expert team of Dr Senadhipan and colleagues to remove the whole tumor which weighed 9.2 kgs along with the 14 smaller tumors found during surgery from patient’s abdomen.
This is supposedly one of the largest tumors to be excised in India. Patient recovered well and was discharged with no post operative complaints.
